Mr. Sipe sent the following e-mail to members:
"Mr. Fields met with: Verne McCue, Greg Scott, Patsy Bennett and I yesterday to go over the health care plan.
The plan administered by ISTA Financial Services, is not a UnitedHealthcare network plan (Which is somewhat restrictive), but uses their network of providers (Pretty much available statewide). We would like for you to check if your providers are in the system. Please follow the following directions to access their website.
http://www.myuhc.com
In the upper right hand corner, click on: Find Physician or Facility.
On the next screen, where Find Physician is already filled in, click Continue
The next screen has a drop down menu asking for network, and the one to choose is the UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus.
After that choice, you may ask it to look for a physician by name or location, and specialty.
If that doesn't work, just call your providers. Let your us know of any problems or missing providers. Be sure to indicate UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus when checking."
Thanks,
Kevin

FLEA investigates new PRIDE program through ISTA
Mr. Sipe sent the following e-mail message today to all members letting them know that the association was investigating a new insurance program run by ISTA.
"Verne McCue, Greg Scott, Sharon Casey(Uniserv Director), Patsy Bennett(ISTA Financial Services) and I met w/ Mr. Bobby Fields last night to discuss a new Health Insurance plan offered by the ISTA. It is called the PRIDE plan and is offered statewide, with different prices based on geographical areas of the state. Because it is a statewide plan, it has some coverages that we don't have and probably doesn't have some that we do. Also to adjust for the statewide concept, the deductible percentages are different, 85%-15%, for example.
This is only in the discussion stage, and is not a sure thing, but we would have to move quickly if we do this (Our old plan renews October 1). Be ready for a quickly called meeting later this month, if we like what we see after the comparisons are made when our small group meets again, probably next week.
We discussed afterwards how much we appreciated the fact that Mr. Fields agreed to meet w/ us and even consider this change."
Thanks,
Kevin
