Vice-president, Greg Scott announced today that "Amy Crandall has graciously volunteered to be the Lapel Middle School building representative." Many thanks to Amy for getting involved in the association.

We would still like to find an additional representative for Lapel High School. If you are interested please speak with Greg Scott.

The monthly district level discussion meeting was held tonight at the central office from 3:45-5:00. If you are a member of the association, the minutes of this meeting will be sent to you by Friday.

New Teacher Orientation 2008

There are sixteen teachers who are new to FLCS (not in the order shown):
Kati Andrews (FES and LES), James Handshoe (FJSHS), Gay Scott (LES), Randy England (FJSHS), Melissa Klabunde (FES), Lisa McDonald (FES), Chad Cook (FJSHS), Matt Boles (FJSHS), Stephanie Caldwell (LES), Dameon Wyatt, Toni Qualls, Janna Turner, Julie Fritsche, Jerrica Martin (FES), and Christi Lade.  Currently 14 of the 16 new teachers have joined the association.

District Council Representatives

Tony Dunn and Mara Le-Quarles represent the Frankton-Lapel Education Association at District Council (2-L) meetings. They know about the strengths and challenges of other school corporations and associations in our district. They give a report to the FLEA Representative Council. The next representative council is on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 3:30 pm at Frankton Elementary School. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings.

District 2 L Uniserv Director

Sharon Casey is our Uniserv Director. She works for the ISTA and helps association presidents and members in several counties. She gave the "new" teachers some good advice about starting their career in education.

FLCS New Teacher Orientation 2008


Mr. Robert Fields (on the left) is the new superintendent of Frankton-Lapel Community Schools. His first day was July 1, 2008.

Mr. Sterling Boles (on the right) is the new assistant superintendent. Recently returning from Hamilton Heights HS, He formerly served as the assistant principal at FJSHS and principal at LJSHS.
